Advanced Technology
Safety at the highest level
Series J escalators place the highest priority on safety and dependable service. A key concept in their design is comprehensive consideration for the well-being of passengers.
Drive Chain Safety Device
A safety device that operates to stop the escalator if the Drive Chain breaks or stretches beyond an allowable limit.
Anti-Slip Floor Plates
A long-lasting stainless steel Floor Plate with grooves to prevent slipping.
Speed Governor
A safety device that stops the escalator if the speed decreases to 20% or increases to 120% of the rated speed.
Skirt Guard Safety Device (Optional)
A safety device that stops the escalator if an object becomes trapped between the Skirt Guard and the Step.
Low-Friction-Coefficient Resin on Skirt Guard (option)
Friction-reducing resin coating on the Skirt Guard to reduce the chance of passengers stumbling when shoes come into contact with the Skirt Guard, thereby eliminating the need for manually applied silicone sprays.
Step Chain Safety Device
A safety device that stops the escalator if the Step Chain breaks or stretches beyond an allowable limit.
Step Demarcation Line
A yellow line along both sides of a Step to demarcate the proper standing area, thereby preventing passengers from coming into contact with the Skirt Guard and stumbling.
Emergency Stop Button
A button that when pushed immediately stops the escalator in emergency situations.
Inlet Guard
A guard made of soft rubber, which fits over the outside of the handrail where it enters the Balustrade to keep a person's fingers or hand, or any foreign object away from the handrail opening.
Top Class Power and Space Savings
30% Power Savings
A highly efficient helical-gear drive unit, linear-type handrail drive system and other improvements have reduced power consumption by as much as 30%.
30% Power Savings 30% Power Savings
More than 10% Space Savings
Highly compact trusses and drive machine contribute to space savings of more than 10%. The enhanced rigidity trusses can now be as high as six meters, thus eliminating the need for space-wasting intermediate building support beams.
