Inazawa Works
Since its establishment in 1964, Mitsubishi Electric Inazawa Works, a dedicated elevator and escalator manufacturing plant, has forged a leadership role in both technology and quality. Considered the “mother factory,” Inazawa Works currently delivers Mitsubishi Electric elevator, escalator and moving walk products to 79 countries.

With a goal of producing quality products while promoting business activities that are in harmony with the environment, the plant itself has emerged as a model of modern manufacturing.
It boasts an environmental control system that conforms to international standards and is dedicated to saving energy, recycling reusable materials, and implementing all forms of effective environmental protection and conservation policies.

History of Inazawa Works
1921   Mitsubishi Electric Corporation established.
1931   Start of elevator and escalator production.
1935   Delivered first elevator and escalator.
1950   Exported first elevator.
1964   Established Inazawa Works, world’s largest factory dedicated to elevators and escalators.
1982   Start of production of industrial robots, remote-monitoring systems for buildings, and security systems.
1991   Established Mitsubishi Elevator Asia Co., Ltd. in Thailand.
1992   Established Mitsubishi Electric Elevator Products Co., Ltd., in Gifu Japan.
1994   Awarded ISO9001 certification for Quality Management.
1996   Awarded ISO14001 certificate for Environmental Management.
1998   Transferred production of industrial robots to Nagoya Works.
2000   Name of Mitsubishi Electric Elevator Products Co. (Gifu Japan) changed to Mitsubishi Hitachi Home Elevator Co., Ltd. after Hitachi invests in the company.
