Since introducing the corporate business slogan "Quality in Motion" in the year 2000 as a part of our commitment to being the No.1 brand in quality, we have carried out business activities based on the common understanding that the key to Mitsubishi Electric's superiority is our continuously evolving quality.
However, the definition of and expectations regarding "Quality" change over time. This ever-changing definition affects not only the quality of products and services provided to customers, but our business activities as well. Accordingly, the No.1 quality that is the aim of "Quality in Motion" has also evolved. Today it includes not only pursuing the improved comfort, efficiency and safety of our products, as well as high-quality service/sales, but also "Ecology" in consideration of the environment. In order to visibly express our long-standing policy on environmental activities, we present a new "Quality in Motion" with four axes, adding "Ecology" as a new perspective to the existing three axes. In all of Mitsubishi Electric's business activities related to elevators, escalators and building management systems, we are committed to continuously evolving with the aim of becoming the No. 1 brand in quality. |

[Quality in Motion Environmental Policy]
Mitsubishi Electric employees involved in the building systems business prioritize environmental preservation as a key management issue and are committed to promoting sustainable business activities that harmonize with the global environment. All activities including the promotion of eco-offices/eco-factories, product manufacturing, sales and related services, and product lifecycle planning shall be performed while giving continuous consideration to influence on the environment. 1. We shall utilize accumulated technologies together with new technologies to
continuously improve quality and performance, downsizing and weight reduction and
energy savings, to reduce the use of resources and toxic substances, and to achieve
zero emissions status.
2. We shall provide environmentally conscious products and environmental support
services such as elevator/escalator modernization and building management systems
throughout society, and make efforts to increase customer awareness of environment-
related improvements.
3. We shall observe environmental laws and regulations, and the entire group including
domestic and overseas affiliate companies shall work to achieve the voluntary
environmental objectives established by Mitsubishi Electric.
4. We shall conduct educational programs at all levels including environmental
education/training/public relations activities for the purpose of increasing all
employees's awarenes of the environment.
